Long-Term Rental (minimum of 3 month contract)
I am looking for a long-term steady renter of my hotshop during the hours I generally can't use it myself; mornings until noon.
The benefit to me is that I get some help with the cost of the studio.
The benefit to you is that you have access to a hotshop for about the actual cost.

Actual Cost of operating the studio (rent, equipment, clear glass, etc.) = $2275/month
60% of that cost (for me to make my work) = $1365, leaving $910 in expenses to operate the other 40% of the time I don't use the shop.

I figure that equates to (4) 1/2-days* of available studio time each week, or $227.50/week of (4) days*.  (* in this context 1/2-day* = 3.5 hours of hot time)
So if you were to rent those (4) 1/2-days* every week, the cost to you would be $227.50/week.
And if you were to rent (2) 1/2-days* every week, the cost to you would be $135.25/week.

This is payable 1 week in advance.

During a time of the year when I am available, I may be hired as an assistant at $12.50/hour.  This may be paid at the start of that day.

The time available is 8:30 to noon; you will need to light the glory-hole 2 hours before you start work, and turn on an annealer.  I can start the equipment to be ready by 8:30, for a cost of $12.50/day if it is helpful to you.

Early Bird Special - You are welcome to come in as early as 5 a.m., so you could start blowing by 7, adding another 1.5 hours to your work time that day for no extra cost.

I have insurance for liability on the building, but only cover up to $10,000 of medical bills if you hurt yourself.

The hotshop is equipped with;
- An electric 100 pound capacity free-standing crucible furnace.  The lid opens like Pac Man.
- One glory-hole, with the largest opening at 14" across, and about 19" deep.  It burns with a Pine Ridge Ribbon Burner, which is nice and quiet.
- A 'high' bench.
- 2 annealers which are ceramic-kilns with computer control.  Interior dimensions are - 18" round, and 18" tall, and the other is 23" round, and 12" deep.  I'm planning to build a larger front-loading annealer by the early summer of 2008.
- Good ventilation, including a fresh air return that blows outdoor air on the back of your neck when you're in front of the glory-hole.

Yes, the glory-hole is not on.  I took this photo on a timer shot on an off day.
Bench is against the far wall, off to the right of the edge of this photo.
Annealers are outside through the glass door to the left edge of the photo.
